Fur-Notify: Stay Updated on Furbooru Notifications and Messages
Fur-Notify is a free Chrome extension developed by SeinopSys that allows users to keep track of their Furbooru notifications and messages in (almost) real time. This handy add-on sends a request to the lightweight About page on Furbooru every few seconds, with the interval being adjustable in the options.
The extension scans the About page for the notification and message counters and displays the total count on its icon. Clicking on the icon opens a menu that resembles Furbooru's top bar, complete with icons for notifications and messages. Clicking on either of these icons takes you directly to the respective pages.
To ensure accurate tracking, users can choose the domain they are normally signed in on using the extension's options. This way, Fur-Notify can keep count of your notifications and messages even as you browse the site on your chosen domain, without having to wait for the next timed update.
By default, Fur-Notify sends a notification and plays a sound whenever the total count increases. However, both the notification and its sound can be disabled if you prefer to only rely on the counter. Notably, the notification does not disappear automatically, but can be cleared by clicking on the close button or any of the buttons. Users also have the option to set a timeout value other than 0 to control the duration of the notification.
